The Waterloo Region Courthouse consolidates the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice services in one facility. This new facility met all of the requirements to receive a Silver LEED certification.
Roberts Onsite completed all the voice and data requirements as well as audio visual and security cabling for the new courthouse. We installed 24 strand fibre OM3 10 GIG as well as 200 pair CAT3 copper backbone from the main server room to 12 strategically placed tel-com rooms. Each room was complete with racking and cable management systems. All the audio visual and security cabling was installed – a total of 14,000 drops.
From the tel-com rooms we ran 5,200 CAT6 cables to various locations throughout the facility. Two separate networks were established throughout the facility: one for the Waterloo Regional Police and the other for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Each network cable was tested, certified and labeled.
Over and above this part of the project we were responsible for installing all the audio visual and security cabling - a total of 19,500 drops. This project required us to escalate our schedule in order to meet the final completion date. We increased our man power, equipment and hours of work in order to meet the revised date. A 25-year TYCO Solutions warranty was provided to the customer upon completion of the project.
