It was a well-choreographed dance that our Millwrighting & Rigging staff performed this week to install two new overhead cranes in our fabrication shop.
We had one crane already in the shop, but it had passed its useful life. Using a Tri-Lift Gantry, the crew worked to lift the crane off the rails and spin it around to lower it to the ground and out of the building. The new crane was then lifted into place.
Our team installed new steel beams to support the other crane. Our electrician piped new feeds to the motor and connected both of the cranes.
A few inspections and a final round of commissioning and the cranes were operational.
