Roberts Onsite completed the communications requirements of the University of Waterloo's seven-storey, 240,000-square-foot Engineering 7 building.
The building features seven lecture halls, 20 garages for student design teams and 40 research labs, including a cutting-edge additive manufacturing (3D printing) lab and RoboHub, a unique testing facility for aerial, mobile and magnetically levitated robots. An atrium and enclosed pedestrian bridges link Engineering 7 to the existing Engineering 5 building.
Our Structured Cabling group installed over 4,300 cables for wireless access points, cameras and voice/ data applications.
All of the required racking for the building's seven data closets were also installed by Roberts Onsite complete with fiber-optic copper backbone and CAT 6 structured data cabling.
All cables were terminated, labeled, tested and certified by Roberts Onsite staff.
