Roberts Onsite worked with the University of Guelph to double the electric vehicle charging stations in three parking lots on campus. The project was funded in part by the Natural Resources Canada - Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program.

Our electrical team provided a turn-key installation of 6 single pedestal and 4 double pedestal electric vehicle charging stations.

To accommodate the installation of 4 new double pedestals in one specific parking lot, our team supplied and installed a new distribution centre. The installation included a new 75kVA transformer and disconnect switch as well as the concrete pads required to support the equipment. The 4 existing charging stations were re-fed to the new distribution centre with dedicated circuits.

In all of the three parking lots, we supplied and installed concrete pads and protective bollards for the charging stations. In each instance, direct buried conduit connected the new charging stations to the nearby distribution panels.

To designate the parking spot for electric vehicles, the pavement was painted to meet the established standards set out by the university.
