Roberts Onsite’s multi-trade team provided a turn-key installation of a new AIDA press at a Southwestern Ontario-area autmotive metal stamping manufacturing plant.
Our highly skilled millwrighting and rigging department offloaded and un-crated the press. Using two large capacity lift trucks, a lot of strategic planning and a large amount of patience, our team brought the press weighing 50 tons into the building. The 330-ton capacity, 15’-tall Servo press was then stood upright and put into position on isolation pads. Once it was in place our mechanical department installed and connected new compressed air piping to the existing building services and assembled and installed the new air cushion tank supplied by AIDA.
To power the new piece of equipment, our electricians also installed a step-down 75kVA transformer on the mezzanine. They also installed 100A and 200A disconnects as well as 200A teck cable running from the 200A disconnect up through the floor trench to the press. Press light curtains, transformer controls and power to the operator station were also completed.
