Due to the success of the GMC Terrain and the Chevy Equinox vehicles, General Motors of Canada undertook to expand their Ingersoll plant.

The 340,000-sq. ft. expansion focused primarily on their body shop, preparing it to house a robotic line for a next generation vehicle model.

Under a Design Build contract, Roberts Onsite completed the electrical and mechanical requirements for the expansion. We installed 4 new 2000KVA 13.8KV/480V unit substations complete with busway and services for lighting and base building operating systems.

Our mechanical scope of work included installing 12 new 1.3 MBTUH roof top air houses complete with an automated building management system, upgrading the existing weld water pumps, and completing an extension of the weld water piping,

Roberts Onsite continues to provide day-to-day multi-trade maintenance support for the GM Plant with a contingent of full-time trades staff available to work 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
