Roberts Onsite was contracted by Dakon Construction to complete the mechanical and electrical work involved in building the new Centre for Cold Regions and Water Science at Wilfrid Laurier University. Mechanically, we installed a complete plumbing system including potable and non-potable water, as well as glycol heating and cooling, heat recovery, reverse osmosis water and compressed gas. A sophisticated fish research lab containing many different species of both salt and fresh water fish was equipped with air, water storage and recirculation to the many tanks. Our mechanical systems also support a roof top greenhouse for plant research. Roberts Onsite was also responsible for providing all electrical and communication requirements. We installed new incoming service, all branch circuit panels that would support receptacles and lighting as well as process power. This project had numerous energy saving features installed including, lighting that was fluorescent and a relay panel that was hooked up to motion sensing devices. There was an emergency generator installed to keep power on for essential process equipment that the fish depend on to live. This project was completed on schedule and to the customer’s satisfaction.
