Roberts Onsite was sub-contracted by Union Gas direct to relocate 2-65 KW micro turbines from their Burlington Facility to their Kingston Facility of which both buildings we help construct. This project required detail decommissioning, scheduling and careful removal. We documented all electrical and mechanical connections as well as photographed, tagged and logged all associated components. These units were transported by our company to the Kingston Facility. Both units were unloaded, set, re-connected and tied into the existing services that we prepared during the building construction. The Micro Turbines were tested, commissioned and put into service. Kingston now has two 65 KW micro turbines which provide building power, emergency power and additional power for the local electrical utility grid system. In addition to energy creation these micro turbines are used as a reclaimable heat source. These turbines are liquid cooled. The return loop produces a heat source that is used in the absorption chiller which creates heating and cooling for their facility. This project was completed on time, on budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.
