Roberts Onsite was contracted by Daifuku Canada to install conveyance systems at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Canada, Woodstock. This project involved the installation of conveyance systems that would take the car body from the weld shop through the DL Dip e-coat system and then to the paint shop. Coordinated across three different shops with specific transfer points, the conveyance systems were comprised of over 900m of friction conveyor, complete with support steel, basket guard, power cables and control wiring. Only the third of its kind in the world, the DL dip system included power roller bed conveyors and nineteen vertical drop lifters with transfer shuttles completely enclosed in the sheet metal booths. The total installation, including electrical and piping services, took only six months to complete – cutting four weeks off of the original installation time line. This project was completed ahead of schedule and to the customer’s satisfaction.
