Roberts Onsite was contracted to design build the electrical and communication portions of Kingston’s new recreational building. The new Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre seats over 5,700 people complete with 26 private corporate suites and is home to the Kingston Frontenac’s. Located at the center of the arena is a state-of-the-art, four sided, plasma scoreboard that our team installed. A new 27,600 high voltage service was installed, complete with yard switching for one 2,000 KVA transformer and one new 2,000 amp/600 volt service switchboard. Secondary power distribution panels supply power to all the arena equipment located in the Ice Plant as well as supply power for the building’s HVAC, lighting, convenience power and all other building electrical requirements. Roberts Onsite also supplied and installed all necessary voice and data structure cabling, wireless outlets, as well as fire alarm and PA throughout the facility. This project was completed in time for the Frontenac’s to finish their hockey season in their new arena.
