General Motors was expanding their current facility in St. Catharines, Ontario. The expansion consisted of a 78,000 sq ft addition. Roberts Onsite was contracted by Walbridge-McKay Cocker to design build all electrical and mechanical requirements for this expansion. Electrically we installed new substations, building automation, high & low voltage power distribution, highbay lighting, generated power and fire alarm. We also tied in the electrical building services and communication system from the existing plant into the new addition. Our mechanical department installed boilers, compressed air, gas services, unit heaters, tempered air houses and provided backflow certification and installation. The plumbing services for the new addition were also tied into the new addition. The challenge with this project was integrating the new addition into the existing operational facility. Roberts Onsite completed this project on schedule, with no disruption to production and to the satisfaction of the customer.
