Frito Lay is Canada’s largest snack food manufacturer. Roberts Onsite was contracted to perform the Olive Coast Installation. This installation was an upgrade to the Miss Vicky’s Kettles and was replacing the plant’s canola oil system with a new olive oil system. We surveyed the domestic cold water mains and the backflow prevention devices and submitted the results to both the customer and the City of Cambridge. All electrical and mechanical services were disconnected from the lines. Our mechanical division replaced the condensate tank, repaired the HP steam piping and re-certified the backflow preventers. Pneumatic tubing was then installed for the control valves and the natural gas, olive oil, waste water, hot oil, compressed air, re-circulated water, chemical and various other piping was upgraded from carbon steel to stainless steel or PVC. Emergency showers and eye wash stations were also installed. All electrical and mechanical services were then reconnected and the line was tested and commissioned. This project was completed on schedule and to the satisfaction of the customer.
